How to make it
- In a mixing bowl, combine the lean ground beef, finely grated or minced onion, minced garlic, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Optional: season with ground cumin, ground coriander, dried oregano and chopped fresh parsley.
- Mix the ingredients thoroughly until well combined.
- Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a kofte (ground meat long patty).
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add a bit of olive oil.
- Place the kofte patties in the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are cooked through and nicely browned.
- In a small bowl, mix the Greek yogurt, lemon juice, chopped fresh mint or dill, salt, and black pepper to prepare the yogurt sauce.
- Once the kofte patties are cooked, remove them from the skillet and let them rest for a minute.
- Drizzle the yogurt sauce over the kofte.
