How to make it
- In a small bowl, mix together the low-sodium soy sauce, hoisin sauce, honey or brown sugar, and red pepper flakes. Set aside.
- Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic and ginger to the skillet and sauté for about 30 seconds, or until fragrant.
- Add the 6oz of lean ground beef to the skillet and cook, breaking it apart with a spatula, until it's browned and cooked through.
- Pour the sauce mixture over the cooked ground beef and stir to combine. Allow the mixture to simmer for another minute or two to absorb the flavors.
- Remove the skillet from the heat.
- Serve the Mongolian ground beef over a bed of cooked quinoa or brown rice.
- Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds for added flavor and texture.
- Serve the Mongolian ground beef with rice and steamed broccoli or your choice of vegetables on the side.
