How to make it
- In a shallow bowl, whisk together the egg, almond milk, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and nutmeg (if using).
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add the coconut oil or use cooking spray to coat the skillet.
- Dip the slice of whole grain bread into the egg mixture, allowing it to soak for a few seconds on each side. Make sure the bread is coated with the mixture.
- Place the coated bread slice onto the preheated skillet. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Once both sides are cooked, transfer the French toast to a serving plate.
